We have Eggs

Well much to my Surprise my S A Fang Tooth Blennies have laid a batch of Eggs, Looks to be several hundred possibly. I have contacted Matt at S. A. and was told he will call me this evening. This Is way out of left field and totally unexpected and I hope that I will be able to raise some of them after they hatch. We'll see but I'm not gonna get to confident at this point as I know nothing about raising them.
Any Info would be welcome as I know little about this!

I have rasied freshwater from egg, never salt..but research a little, and watch that nothing can disturb them!

No these fish are In my 185 that Is still here but Is Sold. I'm waiting for S. A. to call me with advice as they are who breeds these In captivity.

Bill, Rhett can tell you how much research I have done on breeding. I know you can get the proper cultures over nighted from Reed Mariculture or Reef Nutrition. You basically need rotifers and nanochropolis to get started. You feed the rots the nanochropolis (or isocrisis if you prefer but usually used in more coldwater applications) and then you will feed the rots to the fry. I am sure Matt will explain the whole process to you, but if he leaves you hanging for some reason contact me and I will share what I know. It is a lot of info for me to type while I am work. I am trying to get my clowns breeding again, but I keep stressing them out with the move to the new tank, so I have yet to order the cultures. I think it will run you around $200 for everything you need to start out. Good luck and keep us posted.

Bill, Thats awesome you have eggs. My Clarki Pair lays them all the time, & Ive been wanting to try my hand at the fry Im just to lazy to do it. I say go for it & when you get the process down pat come over here & show me how to do it.

I'd Love to but It seems the Male has already Eaten all the visible Eggs already!!! But the Female Is fat as all get out and I'm sure she Is full of more Eggs to come, Dang Fish looks like a Torpedo ready to blow.
As I'm totally new to this I'll wait until I talk to Matt @ SA B4 I spend lots of Cash trying to raise the Eggs. Seems If It was easy everyone would be doing It!
I'll get back when I know more about It and LYK what's up.

Tomoko, That Is a very kind offer and I thank you for It. At the moment the Male has eaten all the visible Eggs and I'm not sure Of what is happening at this point. These fish are In my Packed 185 that Is awaiting P/U any time now. That being said I don't even know If It's possible to get at any future Eggs as It will depend on where they lay them next?
I will see what happens and keep learning what I can about raising the Eggs and go from there. Thanks for the offer and I will LYK what happens soon.

No Zef, They laid them right on the glass and Mag cleaner right next to a Tunze pump. I didn't even see them MVlk spotted them while he was over today, Sad thing Is the Male Ate all the Eggs already. Oh Well If they did once they will do again hope I can see where they are next time?

I put something flat and smooth like a tile 3x3. For my clowns to lay eggs on. it Worked for My clowns maybe it will work for you. I just didn't have time to take care of them. Bt every month she lays some and my tangs goto town on them.
Set a trap and put them in the frag tank and after she lay some then take the maleout after he fertilize them. Just my input goodlyck on the next Time they lay eggs.

OK Thanks to all who had suggestions, I have gotten a PM from Matt and will talk to him tomorrow as It's kinda late and don't want to call him this late. He has told me that he can steer me In the right direction and supply the needed starter food to get going. It all happened so Quick It's like my head Is spinning and I need time to think It all through.
