We have water flowing

Finally got my rodi unit up and running and we have water being transferred from that unit to my water storage bins. Finally!!!

Well, I'm using 1/4" water lines that came with the unit and as its dumping 8n to the storage bin it is very very slow. Uh......is there any way to speed this up? At this rate I'm gonna be here for a week per 30 gallons. Then I have to add salt and wait a couple more days

Not exactly what I had in mind.

Is there anything I can do to make it go faster?

Nope.(assuming your water pressure is good enough) I have the 75gpd unit from Buckeyehydro and guess what - it makes 75gpd!

That is also the reason flkoat valves are pretty much mandatory. Without one, you WILL forget it's running and you will flood your floor. Sure, it'll be really clean water, but the wife still won't be too happy about it!!! (don't ask how I know this)

What rodi unit do you have? The only way to get faster water is to upgrade your membrane to a bigger one however i wouldnt go with anything higher than a 75gpd only because they have the best rejection rate of all membranes, but if you upgrade the membrane you also need to get a new flow restrictor to match the membrane. One other thing is to get a booster pump and raise the pressure to 70-80psi, this will make a 75gpd membrane produce around 90gpd. But you will want at least 60psi for water pressure no matter what membrane you have, lower psi gives you lower gpd and worse rejection which will use up your di faster.

I use the maxro 75gpd membrane from buckeyehydro and love it, 99% rejection rate and produces water faster than my old regular 75gpd membrane.

I have the 75gpd MAXX premium unit that I purchased from buckeyehydro. I just made a call in and if I want to speed this process up, I will need to buy a booster pump and transformer......

Now it just comes down to how much I wanna spend on this booster pump set up..........to be determined

You'd think I'd have one by now.... over the past 10 years I've done this a number of times :headwalls:

Never more than about 3 gallons but still a bad feeling. :wildone:
