Weaning Fish Onto Flake?

Hi, i bought a banana wrasse yesterday and in the 3 feedings ive done since ive found that hes only eating frozen mysis and artemia. how can i wean him onto other foods like flake? he just chews them then spits them out again?

just keep offering, perhaps try a different brand of flake or pellet

Try mixing mysis and his other foods into a small amount of flake before feeding, never mind it gets soggy; gradually (over days) change the proportions to mostly mysis flavored flake. Be sure that the flake you're using supplies all he needs.

i like to feed varied but flake is the staple of all my other fishes diet. i alternate between formula one,prime and brine plus from ocean nutrition and feed frozen about 2-3 times a week.

also try not feeding anything for a couple of days....I got a dwarf lion to take flakes like this and it would take it readily after that.

Try soaking in seachem garlic.

Flake is okay but combined with the other foods, it doesn't make a good enough diet for long term health. You might get more ideas here:
