Weather......

well after I posted that message my power flickered once and has been on since then, so I lucked out

we have lots of ice on the trees, theyre pure white

tank seems fine so far, hopefully all is well

I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have one of those battery powered pumps I can borrow, my tank is so small one of those should hold me over if needed

also, are those surge protectors with battery backup worth the money?

im very close to a walmart

are you talking about the surge protectors or the pumps?

and air pump or water pump?

I was thinking water pump, but I bet air pumps would be better

reeferhead do you know david hayes power on in granite does not look to bad out little ice on car and trees

nope, I don't think so

The CWE city is all good. Most melted today and very little ice on the trees. I hope/think tomorrow will be more of the same. Why does it always stay warmer in the STL city? Maybe because there are taller houses in closer proximity to each other??

the city is always slightly warmer, not only for the reasons you mentioned but because there are more people and vehicles as well

having more streets also absorbs more of the sun (not that that was the case today, but in general)

all of those buildings are absorbing heat as well and releasing it

I am close to Clark in the 63021, but our lights haven't flickered at all. No ppower out around me that I can see, and the trees are covered with ice.

If anyone close loses power, call me at 314-348-1936 and I have little or no bioload at the moment in my tank. Have room for fishes and corals if n one has a back up generator.

If mine goes out, I am headed to Clarks...
LOL

Well gang, round 2 is here with a vengence...tomorrow's supposed to be worse but right now there are some major ice pellets coming down. Chad and I just went to see a movie and to pizza hut...the streets are quickly becoming covered. Hope you guys get power restored so that you have a chance to warm up before this stuff gets to you!

How funny, I was just wondering about how you were doing.

trees are dominated all over here in chesterfield

I dont see any power lines by my apartment, so hopefully mine are underground too...of course that doesnt mean the line that supplies them is underground though....

oh well, Ive got phone numbers written down and a battery powered air pump so hopefully the tank will survive if I lose power

Our lines are underground as well, thank goodness. It's stopped snowing/sleeting/freezing rain/? here for now, but tomorrow we're supposed to get blasted.
