Website Issues

Website Down?

Website Down?

Did they filter me at work or is the Marine Depot website down?

Hi sjnovakovich, thanks for your question. We have no other reports of site issues today from customers, but we sent your inquiry to our IT department to take a closer look. Looking at the real-time analytics on our site right now, shoppers are browsing and checking out w/o incident. It's odd to think your work would block you from shopping from our website of all places. How much time are you spending at MarineDepot.com?! LOL Not that we mind, of course. We think you should spend more time on our site. There are a lot of free sites that allow you to use a proxy to surf anonymously online, although we don't know how secure they are for shopping. For browsing, though, they seem relatively safe.

I've been having random issues accessing marinedepot.com over the past week or two as well. Right now, at 1:36AM EDT, I cannot get on the site. It's been like this for a few minutes. Tried from my tablet and my desktop computer.

If it's only happening for certain people, maybe it's a DNS issue?

For what it's worth, my ISP is Wide Open West cable here in the SW suburbs of Cleveland, OH.

Hi, erikras. Thank you very much for your post. We've sent all the helpful information you provided to our IT Manager and Director of Operations to look into further. The last thing we want is hobbyists not having access to our site. We've collected a few reports of site issues in the past week so we are taking this feedback very seriously. If you haven't been able to access the site since your post, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-566-FISH (3474) so we can assist you with technical support, sales advice, completing an order or checking on the status of a return.

Best wishes,

Same thing here from home. Been having trouble off and on for several days.
Marine Depot.com- nothing comes up
Google: MarineDepot and all links don't work.
Only way I got on your site was link from Reef Central.

Thank you for the heads up!

We sent your 2 posts to our IT manager and Director of Operations. Our developers are presently trying to determine whether there is a problem within our system or not. It is certainly unusual. We have not experienced a decrease in traffic, sales nor have we had any site outages during the time you guys are reporting difficulty accessing the site. The hyperlink you provided is from a Google paid search ad and not an organic listing. We clicked the link and it works for us. We are, however, doing an audit of all our paid search ads to check the URLs to make sure everything is working properly. We've tested the link you supplied us from all our servers across the country and we cannot recreate the problem.

How about clearing your browser cookies? Or trying a different browser altogether?

We'd like to assist you in any way we can. Please give us a ring at 1-800-566-FISH (3474) or send an email to customercare@marinedepot.com so we can answer any questions you may have or help you complete an order.

We really appreciate you all giving us the heads up about the issues you're experiencing. We realize this is a big inconvenience for you so we're doing our best to resolve any potential problems. We also want to thank you for caring enough about MD to help us keep our business online! You're good peeps!

Experiencing the same exact problem again at 1:45PM EDT. This time I'm on my work laptop.

Odd.

But honestly, if I want to buy something, I'll wait for the site to come back up. You won't lose any business from me because of an IT glitch!

Thanks! Relayed again to the appropriate department heads. Have you tried using a different browser or clearing the data from your browser and trying again? This is so peculiar. And this happens if you visit our website directly by typing www.marinedepot.com into the browser? Or is it only from search results? We definitely do not like that it's happening to you again on a different computer. Who is your ISP, if you don't mind us prying? Your browser type and version may also be useful for our developers to know...
