In order to keep you informed of our progress AND to keep you from having to ask questions I will start giving a weekly progress report on the website and other club matters. This is, of course, if my feeble mind remembers to do it once a week. Feel free to remind me should I forget. Also, if I forget to mention anything specifically, feel free to remind me or ask a question.
The secretary position is still open. We have two people who seem to be interested in ruining their lives by running for the position. Our two nominees ( in no particular order ) are Howard De Bord ( ZT444a ) and Dave Weston ( Lost Marbles ). We plan in having the electronic voting take place starting at midnight, August13 and ending at midnight on Friday, August 18. The bbq at Fade 32s place is on Saturday August 19th and anyone who wishes vote by paper will be asked to do so at the bbq.
The membership cards are supposed to be in the works but Dennis told me that the printer has not yet received the check so the printing has not started. Nook said last week that he had mailed the check off so we are unsure as to whether the postal service has delayed it because of the storm or what the story is but rest assured that we will get to the bottom of it. The cards are as important to us as they are to you.
We've got MarkK96 and ol' saltybastage (Josh) heading up the drive to get and keep the website current and looking at ways to improve it. We want to thank them for their efforts and look forward to having their help in the future.
The trip to Rick Rottets greenhouse originally scheduled for September 23rd is having to be rescheduled due to a scheduling conflict. Henry ( HCS3 ) is having to travel on the 23rd and suggested that we change the date to September 16. We are firming up plans with Rick and Henry and should have a firm date within a week or so.
If there is anything that I have skipped that you are curious about just let me know.
