Weekly water change & septic

I'm moving to the country in a couple months and have zero experience with a septic system. I've read what I could find online about the basics, but what about the weekly water changes? Surely I can't be putting 20-30 gallons of saltwater into the septic system every week. What do you people with septics do?

I used to pour it by the bucket under my deck to stop weeds growing there. But I asked my husband to install a pvc drain under the window and tie it into our whole house perimeter drain. Now it goes under my yard to a drainage ditch where it won't hurt anything. Quite slick really as it means I can use a pump to drain the water and no more buckets! You definitely do not want that stuff in your septic!!!

i pour it out the front door onto the deck. it seeps between the cracks and keeps the weeds at bay.

dump the water, in other words, where you don't want anything to grow for a century or so.

Have a septic specialist come out and give you an inspection. You should do one anyways because septics can be incredibly costly. Some can be finicky and others will take whatever you can flush at it. Not sure what the bacteria in the tank think of salt water though.

I was informed by a plumber that you should never dump a lot of saltwater in to a septic tank. It will cripple your good bacteria and render you septic tank useless after a while.
I ran a drain through my wall and 300 feet to the woods.

Funny I came across this thread. I assumed old salt water could fertilize plants or whatnot. Nope. There are 2 dead bushes outside our porch now. Hahahaha
