We have an anenome that has lived through truly shamefull tank neglect and yet it does fine. I have never seen another one like it. We have two clown hosting in it and it has split itself off at least twice in the past. Any ideas?

you want to know what type of anemone it is?

It is not one of the on clownfish hosting anemone. Easy to keep and like you observed can divided by fission. I have several in my tank started as one that come on live rock. Start out as a penny size now the largest is about 4-5 inches

Sorry I did not put the word not when I typed it.

I've had one for 3-4 years now that I'm planning to pass on to someone else soon. It's stayed on the sand bed since I had it in every tank it's been in but was burning a coral so I placed it in a breeder basket until I find a new home. You're right about it being tough. I've had a few clowns try and host in it but they never stayed long. Mine has seemed to stay smaller (about the size of a baseball) and has been getting frozen food a couple of times a week. Hate to part with it but I like my corals more.
