SO i have a small Deresa Clam and i look over at the tank and there was a completely WHITE long tube looking thing coming out of the clam, im pretty sure its part of the clam , i am just curious what exactly is it. here are some pictures that i took of it
I believe that is a squamosa instead of a derasa just to let you know That is it's foot coming out it's incurrent opening. I have never personally had any of my clams do that nor seen that before but it should be fine. Nice clam BTW.
Derasas have smooth shells and squamosas have scutes which are the little "shelfs" you see on the shell. That's how I can tell it's not a maxima as well because of the pronounced scutes on the shell.
