Weird clownfish behavior

I have had my two clowns in the tank for about 4-5 months. Things have been going alog well. The black one (was sold as a percula, but I am not quite sure) is the male and the orange occelaris is the female. I made sure that I bought a female and the smallest black clown I could find.

They have gotten along pretty well. The male has shown his submissive behavior to the female and all has seemed good. They hang around with eachother most of the day but they do not always sleep near eachother, so I do not believe pairing has occured yet. Yesterday I did notice some behavior I have never seen before. It was almost feedig time and I noticed that both clowns had a hold of eachothers front fins. They both were locked together and just spinning in a small circle. I put the feeding tube in there and gently nudged them but they did not break apart. Once I put food in the tank, they seperated and started eating along with the other two damsels in the tank.

I took a look at both of them and neither has shredded fins or looked harmed in any way. Has anyone seen this type of behavior before?

I have seen this before. I am not sure if it was close to feeding or not, but they did not leave any damage either. I've only seen it maybe 2-3 times in 1 year. Can't explain it, but I would guess either fighting over food or dominance.

Sounds like typical fighting behavior. My large female maroon would beat up on the male like this every now and again for the first year or so. I have not seen it since they started spawning
