Weird electroshock effect

I´ve noticed some weird effect in my tank, evertime I have a wound in my fingers, like I sometimes have small wounds between the fingernails and the finger, if I place that hand in the sump I get electrocuted.

Or it feels electorcuted, but if I place my other hand that has no wound for example, I don´t feel anything.

What´s that?

i experience the same thing. it certainly makes my hand jerk out of the water like it was electricity, but ive been told its just a reaction to the salt....

Put your hand in a solution of salt water outside of the the sump. If it doesn't "shock" you, you might have stray current inside your tank.

Then you need to start unplugging things one by one to find out what is causing it. I had it in my tank due to an old mag pump on my skimmer.

thats crazy the same thing happens to me. ive put my other hand in just to see. and nothing.i bite my fingernails all the down till they bleed so im always getting it.im glade someone else gets it to. makes me fell better

Maybe a little electroshock is good for you once in a while, Plancton! ;)

Or this could be what wiped out your dinos..... hmmm....;)

Good idea.

I always have tons of scrapes and cuts on my hand since I'm a carpenter, but I've never noticed it. Then again I've spend many, many, many days poking and playing in the ocean, so I think I'm kinda oblivious to saltwater sting on open cuts.
