Weird Intermitent Apex connection problem

I noticed i could not connect to my apex using either the cell phone or PC.

Follow along on my adventure and adivse:

1) Checked the network: My Netgear wifi adapter was on a different network. (i have multilpe). Check, switched my PC and phone to those networks, still wotn connect.

2) Reconfigure my netwear wifi adapter so that it connects to the network i usually use. check switched PC and phone back to that, still wont connect.

3) Power cycle entire system including apex and wifi adapter. Check no effect.

4) Install the disk in PC use the apex browser utility to see if apex is even there. Check, it is.

5)Try hitting the open from browser button from PC. Check i get HTTP not found.

6) Try hitting the configure button on apex browser utility. Check it reconfigures.

7) Use the search feature on the phone to see if it can detect. Check. It detects. Try to connect. Failed wont connect.

8) Try yet a third network, this time one using a 2.4ghz bandwith instead of 5ghz. Check it moves over to therei and is visible but wont connect.

9) Suddenly phone app connets and is running. Verify PC can now connect on that network: HTTP 404 not found

10) Look back at phone, and now the server has timed out and its gone back off line.

11)Look back at computer, Computer can still see it but once again. HTTP 404 Not found.

12) Back to phone and now its suddenly working again (without making any changes).

13) Check signal strength of router. Check signal strength is fine.

14) At this precise moment, phone is connecting. Then when i try to make a manual change..well it may work one time then give me a server time out the next time. One time it will show me the PH graph, the next time it will say server timed out.

15) Went deeper into phone app to see if i could access Profile and outlet settings. First time it timed out, second time i got through.
PC wont connect at all.


At this point im really wondering if something weird is going on like an *** in my neighborhood with one of those signal blockers or some back door blocking security software quietely installed on my work issue lap top on an udpate without me noticing.

Any ideas??

Info in Apex browser utility reads:
Network Address: 192.168.2.49
Http port: 80
MAC 00-0C-11-23-6D-7A

Running in firmware mode.

App reads: SW version 4.20_1B13
HW Version 1.0

Diagnostic on Phone app matches software version aboveand seemed to complete the test severe keeps timing out pretty frequently.

I have verified the network the Netgear wifi adapter is connected to is in order (I surfed all of them on this lap top and am sending this from the one its currently configured to).
 
First thing I'd do is hard wire to the Apex to take the wifi issues out of the troubleshooting process.
 
I would agree, I found my wireless connection was always a bit flaky. I got not much better over wired, but when I updated my firmware to latest version it seems to have corrected most of my connection issues.
