I got a tank raised Percula Clown about 2 weeks ago. I dont have any anemones in the tank just live rock, well tonight he's started getting up in a hole iunder a ledge of another rock and tail fanning and like wallering(sp?) in that spot. Is that normal behavior? Thanks for any help

Yes very normal, mine were always fanning the sand, clowns do posses very weird behaviour...probably the reason they called them clowns :)

Your Perc will not do it to the severity of a Tom Clown, but it will happen. My CB Tom didn't do this until about 2-3 months ago. Suddenly, he started fanning and 'digging' all over the back half of the reef. He hides in that 'hole' during the day when he gets spooked and hosts a pile of snail shells at night.. I don't understand it..... I do know you best get used to the sandstorms as I've heard it remains at a constant level of fanning through a clown's life.

I personally like the constant turnover of the SSB.

BirkhoferFan15B - BTW, are you a machinist for a auto supplier/manufacturing facility? Just wondered as I might have deal with your company before.

I've heard of it, but don't deal directly with brakes. I travel alot to our (Dana) Owensboro frame plant and deal exclusively with Toyota product line (Sequioa, Tacoma, Tundra...well used to). That was booming until Tundra sales fell through the floor.
