Okay I am not a newbie to reef tanks, but never have I seen something like this before.

25 gallon tall reef w fish. 4 years old. no recent additions to tank.

This morning I woke up and this thing was swimming in the tank at like 15mph (no joke) trying to jump out of the top of the tank. He never got his nose much out of the water, but looked like he wanted to get out.

The pictures make it look like a worm. But this thing. It has a face. It has arms along its side and walks across the counter out of water. It has actually beautiful markings visable only under magnification. purple dotted pattern with neon stripes.

It swims just like a flounder. It is narrower at ends and flares out larger in the center.

I took it to 2 LFS and they were stumped. Customers gawked at it and the fish guy got out the book.

I am pretty sure he is deadly to something. I have no corals and just small fish, shrimp and crabs. He isnt going back in my tank. he is living in a glass right now. I fear his days are doomed unless someone tells me he's worth a million bucks, some new alien species.

I have been doing reefs for 30 years now, never seen anything like it. It does look like a worm, but not like any Ive seen.

Eunacid (SP) worm? Some type perhaps. I have a big beast (14ish inches) in my 90. Caught a glimse of him one night and hit him with the flashlight. He did the exact same CRAZY swimming thing all over the tank. THEY ARE FAST!

Mine looks like oily water rainbow sheen if you can understand that. :)
