Welcome! Here are some notes from our February meeting.

What a wonderful turnout we had for our second meeting of the Northern Wisconsin Reef Society. That's right! Our group has a name. We had 28 people attend the meeting which was held at Drs. Foster and Smith on February 21.

A Huge Thank You once again goes out to Kevin, Steve, Jodi, Patty, Dr. Foster, Dr. Smith, and all of the rest of the Foster and Smith staff.
For those who are unaware not only are Drs. Foster and Smith extending their hospitality and allowing us the use of their facility (and their knowledge) but they have also announced that they will be donating a membership to MASNA (Marine Aquarium Society of North America) for the first year of the club. This is a wonderful gift as it allows us access to many publications and speakers. Please check out their website at www.masna.org when you get a chance. We will make available the usernames and passwords when this is completed.

Please welcome me in congratulating Bill Belliveau for stepping up and taking seat as the first President of the NWRS. Also elected are (myself) Shannon Johnson as Secretary and Treasurer Chris Eggett. Speaking of Treasurer, the NWRS members present approved a $10/year membership fee.

We have decided on the meeting dates and times. The meetings will be held the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Drs. Foster and Smith coral aquaculture facility. The next meeting will be held on March 21, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. *Please note that the meeting places may change from time to time, however we will post up on the forum.*

Please remember to get your names and email addresses over to Bill so he has them for the member directory.

Dan will be working on a new forum in the club section on www.ReefCentral.com for us. Start looking for that soon.

We now have a website thanks to Dan and Denise! It is under construction but looking great! Check it out at www.nwreefsociety.com

Those who are interested in submitting your ideas for the club logo and/or mission statement please either email them to Bill or bring them to the next meeting where we will vote on them.

Many members have expressed interest in participating in a "Tank Tours" get together. This will be discussed in more detail at a later meeting.

Keep in mind that if you have not already registered as a seller for the Foster and Smith swap, and are planning to do so you must hurry as there are only a handful of slots open. We will also have a space available to us at the MASNA booth where we can promote NWRS.

** Don't forget the next meeting will be on March 21st at 6:30 p.m. at the Aquaculture Facility**

Bring your refractometers along as we will be calibrating them as a group. Kevin has also agreed to give a speech on coral taxonomy and answer any questions that we may have.

Until next time....Happy Reefing!
