Well,
I got my sump done. Disregard the power strip hanging in the back. I have a timed power strip coming so I can have the lights, lunar lights and the refugium light all on timers. My camera sucked today too for some reason.
Here you can see the added two lights making 6 T5 bulbs. I went with 3 Blue pluses, an aquasun, an aqua blue and an actinic not in that order and they're 4.5-5 inches off the water. This should really bring out the colors and allow me to put any corral anywhere I want in the tank without worry of not having enough lighting......I hope. You can also see my 2 new Koralia 3's for circulation. With those at 850gph each and the return pump at 650 (322 at my head loss with piping and height) I'll be at 31-32 times turnover rate which I think will be great. I also got a digital thermometer until I can get the system controller. It's on the other side of the tank. If you look at the bottom of the tank, you can see the rock standoffs I made out of 1.5 inch PVC couplers. These will be mostly covered by the sand but about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch of them will stick up to hold the rocks. Coraline will hide the rest and I hope this is a worthy filtration bonus.
Here you can see my RO/DI water filtering system for the tank(Thanks to Melev). I had it on the main floor behind the washing machine like most do and draining into it's drain but she didn't like it there and our washer dook a dump today. I found out how hard it was to work around the system trying to fix the washer so I moved it to the basement. This way I can have my water and salt mixing done by a drain in the floor and just work 5 gallons at a time going upstairs. If the system had a problem, it wouldn't cause a mess on the main floor either. I might feed the line over to the tank and up through the floor to feed directly into the sump for an auto top off system. Not sure yet as I've heard enough stories about people having problems with them failing. We'll see how soon I get tired of manually topping off.
And finally here is the support I made for under the tank. People say these new style rafters are stronger than the older 2x10's but I don't know. The tank is running parallel to the rafters and teeters on one so I put this support at the front of the tank and it's sitting level and perfect now. I might be just over cautious but that's me. This spot in the basement is going to be the wife's sparring room so I'll have to pad up the boards or think of something else. She'll need the room for her workouts and weapon training. We'll see what happens.
Now I just need to buy the salt and start making water. Then when it's up to temp and the right salinity, I'll add sand and live rock. After about a month or two of cycling(whatever it takes), I'll get our first inhabitants. Her and the boys insist on two false percs. We'll see.
Thanks for looking. Any constructive criticizm is welcome.
