Wake up this morning, water is alittle cloudy and smelly. Low and behold, my GBTA was sucked and shredded in my Koralia. It was firmly planted on the rock when I went to sleep, and some how got up to the pump.

So I spent a good 20 mins fishing everything of him out of the tank, the best I could and thrashing him. Could not do a water change as I had to leave the office. Will do so when I return home. I closed my home office door, open the windows wide, and preparded to open it when I get home to a funk!!

Oh no, not good!..I would take a sick day to do water changes. Do you have a lot of fish? A dead anemone could be toxic to all your tank inhabitant's.

Oh no! I'm SO sorry to hear that!

Maybe you can at least take a 1/2 day and go home and do a quick WC? Maybe fake a stomach virus!?

The only inhabitants I have in there at the moment is a Blenny and Clean up crew.

I'm going to try and get out of the office around 2:00pm before everything dies, but I was able to fish I think almost everything but who knows.

Wanna hear the even funnier part???? I HAVE A PAIR OF TRUE PERCULA'S IN ROUTE FOR DELIVERY TODAY FROM LIVE AQUARIA

I'm going to pick one up 2 at Petco, 1 for the Blenny, and the other for New True Percula's. Keep them in there until I am done with my Water Change.

Best of luck, that's the worst smell

No Kidding. I went home for lunch, and there was no real bad odor in the room that my tank is in. BUT once I opened the cabinet under the tank where the sump is, I got blasted with the worst funk. So it looks like I have to clean out the sump proper.

I did some water test, and by the grace of god the Water parameters were not off the chart. The Ammonia was elevated which is understandable, but Nitrates 0 and Phosphates 0 were stable, PH was 8.2, KH was 8, Alk was in Normal Range.

Was the stable waters due to the possiblity of me taking the carcass out in time before total rot? I mean there is probably some carcass still in the sump making it smell like week old death. Who knows! When I get home I will be doing a significant water change.
