I am bummed out. My pbta died. I don't understand what could have happened. It stopped eating about 1 1/2 weeks ago and hid in a cave in my tank. I then noticed that it was begining to split so I thought well that's okay, but much to my dismay it did not finish splitting and it was going on 3 days. My tank began to get some cyano so I was doing water changes. Being curious as to why I was getting cyano I decided to investigate the cave to see if the pbta had died. I was able to push it out of the cave and sure enough it was 3/4 of the way split and dead as a door nail..... stinky and flaking off pieces. ***! Do you know what could have happened? I have 2 other BTAs in the tank that are thriving and one was bought bleached and is making a great comback so it is not any kind of unforseen chemicals in my tank that are the problems. Anyhow, just wanted to rant. It was a beautiful anemone and I am bummed it won't be around in my tank.
