I was just out at the tanks talking to a family of guests about pistol shrimps and how they pair up with a goby. I had just fed some sinking pellets and the shrimp and goby were both going nuts.
Then a second pistol shrimp came out of the burrow.
I've maintained this tank for two years, staring at it probably 3-4 hours per week in that time span, and up until today had no idea we had two pistol shrimp in the tank. :spin2:
This hobby never ceases to amaze me. In my defense the two shrimp look exactly alike so I'm sure I've seen them both just never at the same time. Pretty cool to know that two pistols and an aurora goby are all living in the same burrow.

I wouldn't be too hard on yourself, that's a pretty big tank. If both shrimp are living in the same burrow I would venture a guess that your tank is getting some natural larval food periodically. Congrats on the surprise!
