Im off to college in a few months, so i have to sell all my prized zoas............BUMMER!! watching them go to 1 polyp to 30 has been so much fun, but im not done yet!!!

The only thing thats making it easier is the idea "maybe when im done with college i'll get some job and have hella money to buy a even better tank." But i really like my tank and its sad to see it go. Not to mention all the work of selling the stupid stuff. How am i supposed to put work into something i dont even want to happen? geez. Heres some pics.

i'll prob still check the forums once its all gone. Does that make me a loser? ha.

Does your college let you keep a small tank? You may be able to keep some stuff if so...
I am also in college, but I have an apartment so I get to keep whatever I want. Where are you heading to?

im heading off to SF State and will be living on campus. I believe you can keep some small tanks but thats alot of equipment exchanges to get a tank i dont really want. I did think about it for a long time tho, but decided i would be happiest just without one for a while.... then next time build the tank of my life!

WOW, do I wish I was closer to you...you have some amazing Zoa's in your tank.......good luck with your studies!

thank you.

well the coral is rolling out, and the money is rolling in. But its hard to even be excited since i dont want to sell anything! ha. I guess thats one good part leaving this hobby, you get a little check at the end, but its not worth it. I feel like i priced my zoas on the fair to low end of the spectrum anyways so its not like im charging 30 bucks a polyp and really bringing it in.

Keep in touch with the folks you sell your corals to. Then get back a clone in a few years.
Better yet, also give them a bit of a discount with the understanding they re-seed you in 5 years. Just a little long term planning -- kinda like putting a bit away in a reef 401K

I got fed up with my maroon after a few years -- she kept pulling all my corals around, digging etc. Gave her to a friend of mine. He kept her for 5 years, then gave her back. I've had her for ~ 2 more years now in my frag tank (cant pull the plugs out!). When I move, I'll put some frags of key colonies in friends tanks in case something goes wrong.
