Wellso brain issue

Noticed last night and this morning it has its filaments or white strands out in different places all along its bottom side. Haven't moved it, water parameters excellent, no shrimp, and during day expanding fine. Also haven't seen any bristleworms but have alot of amphipods. My question is why is it doing this?

It sounds like it might be Mesenterial Filaments. Sometimes these are used as a defensive mechanism, other times it could be an indication that the coral is a little upset at the moment.
Do you have any other corals nearby?

Frag of blast wellsi 5 inches away, candy canes 10 inches away, xenia 6 inches away. All have been in this proximity for months. This just started in the last couple of weeks. I've seen the amphipods bothering my mushrooms wondering if this is the case? I have seen them crawling on the underside maybe they are irritating it?
