Wet / dry filter material clogging almost daily

125 with Walt Smith fake rock.
At this point only have 3 fish, all are eating nori and nothing else. No corals or live rock. No live sand this is a bare bottom tank.

The filter pad (blue and white) seems to clog within a day or two. When this happens, water does not trickle down through the filter media. The water just runs off the pad and down the walls of the wet dry.

There doe a not appear to be any uneaten nori, just brown sludge.

Pad is installed white side up. Is it normal to replace every 2 days?

FYI... "dry rock" become "live rock" once its populated with bacteria..
So you have "live rock"...

But for the most part wet/dry/bioballs went out of common use a long time ago and yes its very possible that mechanical filters are clogged in just a few days..

I'd pull the filters out completely personally....
