Thinking of buying a 200 gallon fish tank should I buy one with built in overflows for wet dry system or just a regular tank for a couple canisters then I heard all you need is a lot of live rock and a big protein skimmer confused please help

The overflows are referred to as 'reef ready'- you don't have to have a 'reef' though.
You'll want a 'sump', etc.
I'd definitely skip the wet/dry, and the cannisters though.

You can research a sump, many types- I DIY most of my stuff.

Agreed. You'll get a lot of opinions but I suggest you do a FOWLR (fish only with live rock) and ideally a protein skimmer. The live rock will provide biological filtration and the skimmer mechanical filtration. Much more stable (and natural!) than having to clean canisters or filter pads all the time.

There's a great thread in the Stickies of this sub-forum called Setting Up. I'd check it out. Especially this thread by Sk8r:
