Wet Side Falls off Periodically

The wet side of my Vortech keeps falling off every once in awhile. Lately, it has been once a week or so. I have a 180 with 1/2 inch glass, and I have the spacer set appropriately.

What's up with this?

First try thoroughly cleaning the glass and see if that helps. If not adjust the pin spacer one notch up if you have the one with the blue sticker. If it has the black sticker try removing the spacer as it appears it may have lost a bit of magnetic attraction. Depending on the batch run of your pump, see if it came with an extra washer to be placed between the wet frame and magnet. This was to be used on 3/4 glass tamks but is no longer offered due to the increase in magnetic strength of the magnets now used. If it did, install that and remove the thin clear washer.

I had one of my wet-sides fall off last night, for no apparent reason. No matter what I tried, the wet side acted like the magnetic poles had somehow been reversed. I then noticed my blue sticker on the dry side had developed a few small crinkles, apparently from an un-noticed vibration. I peeled back the sticker and flattened the crinkles. That did the trick!

Just make sure to mark the spacer so you will always have the correct setting. The corrective action you took has fixed a lot of problems such as this. When the sticker gets bunched up it can cause problems.
