wet vs dry skimate

Any pros/cons to a wet vs dry skimate I need to know about. Until recently I never had the need to care about such things, but I actually have a decent skimmer now, so...

Dry will not allow undersaturated bubbles up (I think), likely- ie, less is taken out overall. Pros, no saltwater removed, less emptying of cup.

Wet will, along with organics, remove saltwater- so need to keep an eye on salinity and may require emptying cup pretty often.

the wet skim/water change is an interesting idea. might have to try it this weekend.
