Wetsleeves' 210 thread.

The first picture I posted in this thread should give you an idea of how powerful each 'cuda is.

- In fact I removed the 3/4" loc line because the flow was too powerful. It's perfect with 1" holes.

Here's the latest. I added a euroreef CS 12-2 skimmer that has an extra venturi pump added. This was purchased used from another reefer.

This one transitioned poorly from another system, but is recovering slowly.

And my newest additions.

This one actually has a blue-ish base with reddish polyps.

Things definately look very good. I hope you see the growth you want over time. I see some similarities to a certain system or two I know of, but it is all good man.

Best of luck.

For the food mishap, here is what I do when I leave town and have someone watch my tanks....

I take those little round glad-loc containers and add some RO/I water to them and then place in all the food(s) that I want fed in that sitting... So for my tanks I will have X containers for how ever many days I am going to be gone, plus a few extras... If you feed twice a day then have 2x per day plus a few days worth extra (just in case)... Just place them in the fridge and have your "fish sitter" just open up the containers and pour it into the tank... On my FW setups I use the wkly pill holders (7day ones) and I put in the flake/pellets that I want fed on a given day so all they have to do it open that day worth and pour it in...

If all they have to do it open and pour, they can't really mess it up, as long as they do it when/how often you say and make sure that if they miss a day not to add the one they missed and the current one at the same time (unless other wise specified)...

:) Thanks Doc. I think had the same idea at around the same time, but you beat me to the finished product by about a year. I had been looking at natural reef flats in pictures and knew that that was what I wanted to try to simulate. I'm sure my reasoning was the same as yours. It provides a lot more hiding places than traditional reef tanks, has swimming room over the reef instead of around it or in front of it and allows for a lot better flow. Anthias were the main fish I was attracted to and this design seemed to fit their needs well. Would I claim you had no influence on some of my decisions? No. In particular the sequence pumps and the Lumenarc III reflectors were definately inspired by your sharing your experience. Before that I had not considered a CL system. You played a good guinea pig for some concepts I had been debating. :)

Shawn,
Thanks for the tip. I think I have a more reliable person to watch the tank next time. There's a reefer in my neighborhood who offered.

Looks very nice Walt. Love the white cap clowns. Great colors. Keep up the great work.

Thanks. I should have two more white caps coming soon if all works out in my favor.

... and although he's pretty small, the leucokranos (white cap) is the only one allowed in the anemone.

Great update! Tank is looking awesome. Absolutely love the aquascape, very unique.
Thanks! It was designed with Anthias in mind. Unfortunately, something happened to them while I was in Australia. :(
I'll eventually get some more.
