Just a heads up, I had a large rock of blastomussa shoplifted. It was alien eye with about 8-10 polyps. They also took a 2" crocea. If it shows up at an auction let me know.

Sorry to hear that, I hope this means you know who they are. I never heard of wet goods being Shoplifted before, birds and animals yes. People are nuts and the law is useless, if a Cop does their job, they get hung!

Another thing that bothers me about all these Saltwater thefts is that it might be someone that will show at one of our gettogethers at someones house. I used to think the Reef community was free of dirt-bags.

It is someone we know. The saltwater hobby is like scuba diving. Everyone knows everyone because it is such a small hobby still. The stores to buy this stuff is so few in Tucson that we see these people all the time. Rob has been stolen from how many times and Hector got hit twice that I know of. They know what they want and they know where they can get it. They are setting up this tank and using the stores as a free place to get it. Watch for the new guys on these sites that come out of no- where with big tanks and expensive set ups. new guys at the auctions or people we know they can't possibly have this normally but all of a sudden now do. We know these people well.

sorry to hear about the thefts... Don't allow people to come in to your store with drink cups. When I live in CA that was a popular way for theives to come in and pretend they are just looking, they dip the drink cup in the tank to get water and walk around till your not looking and just grap what they want. Put the smaller corals that you think can fit in a drink cup up high so you can spot anyone reaching. I would also put in a small camara system, since it seems this is not the first time.

A lot has to do with our Chief of Police and his "PC" attitude towards crime. Its OK to make porn videos in your patrol car while on probation for your new promotion to Lieutenant. But if you chase down a suspect coming over someones fence without waiting for back-up and you hurt the dirt bag, you get reprimanded and suspended. Kinda gives the bad guys an edge and incentive to do more!

Yeah I watch people like hawks (with drinks), camera was no use this time. I think they pocketed it. Bill did not see anyone with drinks. But I am aware when i see someone with a big gulp. Maybe I will allow drinks but make it mandatory to take a large gulp of it before leaving.

Sorry to hear about that Rob. When I used to work at TK we had a lot of croceas go missing. The guy who was doing it was using a drink cup.

I agree with clkwrk, no drinks should be the policy. Anything can be in those cups and none of it is good for your system.
