So ive been searching for a good low cost light for my 14 gallon cube and i ended up feeling like this -:headwally: and like this - :headwalls: AND like this LOL and then i saw this on fish street and im like :inlove: http://www.fish-street.com/product_details.php?category_id=118&item_id=592&currency_code=USD Will this light be sufficient for softies? (decided to go only softies with 1 or 2 lps) i was originally gonna get a 10 gallon but after i saw this light i decided i will go 15g (Bigger is better, right?). I know the blue to white ratio ain't enough but this tank is only gonna be running for 2 years. So any suggestions? dont do this- :blown: to me

It will not, and the color is not that great. http://www.aquatraders.com/LED-Aquarium-Lighting-featuring-1W-LED-p/56260.htm this would work, but the color is still bleh and it needs more blues. http://www.reefbreeders.com/par_38_leds.html a par 38 like this or something similiar would work well.

I don't believe anything an LFS or most distributors tell me unless I can confirm it from another source. I'm sorry but most of them are just out to sell you product and really don't care about how well it works for you. If this light is junk, are you going to spend $20-$30 dollars to ship it back for a refund? :lmao:

And in this case it's a distributor in Hong Kong. I have bought from FishStreet a couple of times and they have been good and even pulled an electrical item off my order because it wouldn't work with US power. But as far as this light goes... ugh. It may keep lps alive, but I don't think they'll be all that happy. It should be at least 3 blue and 3 white at the very minimum and 4 blue and 2 white would be better. My suggestion is to keep looking.

So what if change the combination? Forget lps, if I change the combination will it grow softies? I'm talking super easy softies like mushrooms, Xenia and leather coral

The led that you linked from beamswork is not enough light to grow softies, the one that I linked could, but the color is awful. I really think you would be better off with a par 38 bulb or two or if money is tight get a used fixture such as a 70 watt metal halide or a better led. Some stunner strips would do better and if you are handy you could make a unit from aquastyleonline.com that would work well for cheap.
