What anemone should I keep?

I have two perc clowns in my tank and was wondering which anemone to keep with them. I have a 40 breeder with 2 eShine Cree 60watt LEDs. I don't want something that is going to get real big, or move around a bunch and kill coral. I was thinking about a mini carpet. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If you go with the mini carpet don't expect it to be a host for the percs.... For the size tank you have, a BTA might be a good option (although it's not a natural host for percs) it has worked several times if you look around on this site. It might not happen instantly, but just might happen over time...

Is your tank reef ready, and plumbed up to a sump? How long has the tank been running for?

Otherwise for a 40B, not sure what else would be suitable... certainly none of the carpets, mag, crispa, etc..

The chance of your percs accepting a mini carpet as a host are very very small.

I'd also suggest a bubble tip. My perc took to hers right away. It is hit or miss though.

And sometimes that's the best outcome. I have a friend who kept a mini carpet and a perc together in a 34G to see if the anemone would host the clownfish. The clownfish ended up being stung and eaten.

something that you could have with a maxi mini is a couple of sexy shrimp... i wouldnt suggest a fish though, theyre super sticky, haha

I actually just picked up a green BTA yesterday afternoon from the LFS. The perc clowns paid no attention to it at all last night, but I woke up this morning to find the female sleeping in there. She hasn't left since. Make sure you drip acclimate.

BTAs are notorious for moving around. I've had them go walking and kill corals before after staying put for months. Unless you can separate the rocks they're on from rocks with corals on them (difficult in a smaller tank) you can't really prevent it or even predict it.
