What angel do you have in your reef

I have a Centropyge flavicauda (dwarf whitetailed angel) in my 30g reef, he's a model citizen. I have other angels, but they live in a FOWLR. There's a little GSP and Xenia in the tank and they 'trim' the Xenia regularly so I don't think I'll be adding more coral to the tank!

I have a Blue Face, Chrysurus, and a Regal. I am awaiting a pair of Multi-Color Pygmies to put in soon.
I know the chances I take with these fish but I made the choice to build my reef with corals that they don't seem to have the taste for. That unfortunately can get a little expensive at times depending on what they may decide to eat.

So far so good, Zoo's, xenia, and carnations are definite no no's in my tank.

I have a cherub angel in my 29, he's been a perfect reef fish (except when I tried to pair him with another cherub). I've never caught him nipping at inverts/corals.

I had a swallowtail (Genicanthus melanospilus) in my 125, but she moved her to the LFS when my tank had a bad sps meltdown and I restarted the tank. She died while boarding. :( Not sure why as the LFS is outstanding. Now I'm exploring my Genicanthus options. My wish would be a watanabei, but if I can't find one I'll get another swallowtail.

I have a Swallowtail Angel like this:

They are completely reef safe. I had a pair of Watanabei Angels, but they didn't survive a power outage of 12+ hours.

Watanabei pair and Swallowtail pair for me. I have had flames (2 good and 1 bad) and a juvi emp before.

Trio of regals now...

asfur and pair of chrysurus were yanked and in my frag system awaiting fish only after picking on my prized sps a little too much... have had regals for years and they've been fine with sps, clams, ricordia, certain lps... but not zoanthids :)

I've kept many large angels in reefs in the past to varying degrees of success...

The spectacle is worth it... I love angels too much and to me it's worth the risk, as I have an easy method for retireval...

One shot before yanking the chrysurus pair... with flash under actinics at feeding time...

Sweet pic copps

I have a flame angel and he is becoming a pain. He nipps at softies and clams. I will be getting rid of him. Beautiful fish, but mine is problematic.

i guess if i would want an angel in my reef i should stay away of zoo's i would like a regal or a blue face are they hard to keep or it's the kind of fish that if you get them to eat your half way there

I've currently got a Bellus and a Wantanabi in my 400. I'm looking for mates for them now. I've also kept Coral beauty's in my reefs in the past.

With the regal its more a case of if you get one that is ACTUALLY healthy in the store your halfway there. Before purchasing one I would do alot of researching if you're truly serious about it. Read "the regal angel thread" you will learn quite a bit from that and be able to tell if you think you're ready to try one

hi secrest ill try to find this thread and do you know of one about the blue face angel or do any reeffers have experience to share
