Hey guys we just moved our zoas together in a bunch in our tank so we can add more corals and today we noticed that the one frag was doing this???

HELP!!

Looks more like a spaghetti worm than anything the zoas are doing. Maybe moving them kicked up some detritus and the worms are having a feast.

tracy

They are expelling waste.

it is same as puking up zooxanthellae? good or bad?

if you want a really good explnation of this there is a book "Giant Clams in the Sea and the Aquarium" that goes into detail about zooxanthellae. It talks about how clams make their own food and when they have made more then they can use they get rid of the extra zooxanthellae. It comes out brown and in a thin rope like shape. And being that Zoas and clams do the same thing with with zooxanthellae, you will learn a few things about them from this book.
