If you want to save money buy it dry. That way you are not paying for water weight plus you can play with it before you get it in the tank to do your aquascaping. Marco rocks is very good.
dry is so much cheaper and you don't have to worry about the hitch hikers. Not sure where to buy in NY. There's a few huge retailers here in FL that'll ship your way. I was lucky to find a store here that sold some really nice, clean cured rock. Go dry and seed with just a little of the best rock you can find.
Just got a small amount from gulfliverock.com. Well packed, wrapped in wet paper towels, lots of life. Only had it few days but so far minimal die off.
I don't think there is anything nicer than the dry Pukani from Bulk Reef Supply. And I wouldn't buy from anywhere else!! If you want live I've read good things about Premium Aquatics.
