What are these things on my Goniopora?

Have you guys seen these things before? It doesn't look like worms or anything like that, it looks like spots or pellets on each polyp, but they were not there the last time I took macro shots.

They are very happy lately, which made me want to avoid dipping then in anything, in case these are beneficial things, but I can give it a try that at a later date.

I'll wait to see if someone else has any experience with these before I do.

Just use a pair of scissors and cut one of the polyps off. Dip this in freshwater and see what happens before you fiddle with the whole thing. GL.

Wow that looks like black bugs, do you have an older picture and can you spot any on other LPS in your tank?

Hmmm. These look more red and smaller than what I can find online, but I think it may be some kind of bug or maybe small particles of uneaten food. I did find an old macro shot of this coral I had and I don't see any there.

I have a feeling this is food rather than bugs. The reason is the color of the dots, they look a lot like Coral Frenzy and now that I think back, I did some target feeding two days before this picture was taken. I will wait a few more days and take another picture of the same area to see what it looks like then. I will keep you guys updated.

This is the old macro shot from last year.
