what are you favorite snails

Banded trochus, nassarius and Mexican turbos.

I agree with this exactly. Unfortunately hermits have killed most of my trochus snails. They have a much harder time murdering my turbos. And the 3 or 4 really huge turbos I have eat SO MUCH algae. They are amazing. Nessarius snails are great because of how they move around. They are more like members of the community instead of just algae scrubbers like the others. My wife calls then elephant snails bc of their proboscis.

I also have cerith and nerite, but am not a fan of either.

Trochus snails are my favorite although they do need watching sometimes because they tip over and can't get back over.

My astraes are always moving and eating algae, my nassarius come out at night and clean up really good, ceriths were lazy super slow and tried to escape

+1 Banded Trochus snails.

I've never had any problems with them not being able to right themselves btw. Pretty much all of the snails I've kept can do this given enough time. Let's just hope a crab doesn't cross it's pass when it's so vulnerable.

+1 on the stomatella and trochus. I also really like nerites in a nano tank. They are fast moving and seem to not be a target for hermits. They are pretty small but definitely effective.

My hermits have killed many nerites in my tank. I have also found several dumb nerites who climbed out of the water into a groove where the arm of the hood on my tank lies, and they can't figure out how to get out and end up drying up and dying. So between those dummies and the hermit murders, I'm down to maybe 5 of the 20 or so I started with.

Nassarius for sure.

I can't seem to keep turbos alive for some reason.

Trochus are great snails as are margarita snails. Cerith's are among my favorites as well.

Stomatella snails are soo cool. I have 100+ easy in my seahorse tank. No predators of them there like a wrasse or crab hahah.

Had a green turbo for about a week and it died. Added a mexican turbo and it lasted about a month. Added nerites and they were all gone within a month or so. Ceriths, bumble bees and nassarius all seem to do ok in my tank. I have a trochus (or Astraea not sure) that has lived for several months.

Hands down, the big white nassarius and the little strombus grazers, which have a shape and proboscis like a conch (to which they're related, are less than half an inch in size) and spin thread to descend from rock to rock. They reproduce like crazy. I'm also fond of limpets, which are also self-sustaining and very efficient at film algae.

Colonista snails. Never had to pay for a single one and since they reproduce freely and quickly I have never had to refresh/replace my paid CUC which are almost gone.
