What are your thoughts on growth

Ok think I worded everything wrong. What I was trying to say is light does affect growth but every one thinks its a very big part of it. What im saying is the other elements play a bigger part in growth where alot of reefers just think it light only and slake off on the other importante stuff that is need and well . Like I said before light plays a small role because your lights stay on only 5 to 6 hour a day. Im talking about day light not atinic. So the rest of thouse hours your light are not on your corals are relaying on you cal and alk and mag to be just right. So out of the 24h you only use 5 to 6 hour of day light to help with growth thats it the rest of the growth process also happens when lights are off. I hope that people understand now what I was trying to say. I think my comparing the wild reef throw off alot of people here. Im just saying alot of reefer dont focus on the other needs that are more in play in a reef tank.

To answer the topic, My thoughts on growth are:

-Ca, ALK, Mg, PH, Temp, and Sg as stable as possible.
-Test water once every two weeks, or if anything looks 'off'.
-I dose as of now, but have a CaRx waiting to be set up. I prefer the CaRx, but to each his own.
-ATO set up so the slightest water level drop will cause the tank to top off.
-Random water movement and GPH.(Tunze, Vortec, Etc.)
-Replace bulbs when due.(hopefully going LED so this will be no more!)
-Carbon and GFO in a reactor. IME the GFO never worked in a bag placed in the sump.
-Of course WC's

And lastly,
-When fragging a branching SPS, if you are going to put them on plug, disk or whatever, Glue them on sideways instead of straight up. This will make it encrust in a larger area while begin to shoot up new branches along the (larger) base. I've noticed when I mount frags this way they become more of a "mini colony" instead of just a "large frag". Only down side of this is it will take longer to begin to shoot branches. Makes a MUCH better looking piece, IMO.

My two pennies. :)
