?
I might be doing some experimenting with some dipping and see how my overgrowing population of xenia react to it. Thx for the democrat and the suggestion.
Manny, just to clarify fluke tabs is not levamisol, they are two different things, one is made for flukes marine and fresh water the other is made for pig deworming. I am very much against the the levamisol as I killed several corals using this method.
This is the fluketabs that I dip all corals before I place them in the tank, this will without a doubt exterminate your xenia no matter how careful you rinse the coral before you place it back in the tank.
I used the fluke tab medication that they carry at BigAls right behind the front counter. 1/2 of a pill in 3 gallons, crushed up. I didn't add xenia to that container, however after the dosing, a few days later, there was residue in the powerhead that I used, and I didn't realize it, so I used that powerhead in my soft coral tank, and my xenia melted away within a week. I can't even keep xenia in the tank at all now even after that and after 2 40% water changes. I don't really mind, it's just irritating to not be able to keep a certain type of coral.
That might be why I had a small patch of GSP in the 12g that was doing fine, just covered by algae. Then I put it into the big tank that has had all of it's acro frags treated, and the tang ate off all the algae, but the GSP opened once and then never again. Then it just dwindled away. Now it's old home is the growout spot for a nice little patch of Galaxia
