what camera do u have?

If you choose Nikon, go with D90. I have it. It's a great camera. Also, the D90 has live view and the D60 does not. Big plus.

You can wait next month when the newer Rebel T1i comes out. 15MP, up to 12800 ISO, Digic IV processor-same as the 50D and 5D Mark II and a built in High Def 1080P video camera. Price remains the same as the current Rebel Xsi.

can't really beat the price on this one. Consumers are really the ones winning in the battle of Canon vs Nikon. I kind of feel that Canon and Nikon have similar performance so you can't go wrong with either. I do prefer Canon due to their wide selection of lenses that are typically priced less than rival Nikon.

If you like the feel of the bigger body then the 50D hands down.

I like a smaller camera body so I am going with the T1i.

a good portion of my photography is of my tank, read: macro lens which are big bux, like more than $600, I just got a canon S5-iX, I think they have a S6 out now

I like the smaller CCD in th PAS cameras, which give a better DoF with a given apature than with the larger CCD in a DSLR... plus I am cheep :)

anyway, if you are going to be doing most of your shooting on auto, PAS may be the way to go...however the 3+ FPS is noice

canon and nikon are always leap frogging each other as far as technology goes, but the new rebel is going to be hard to beat, especially with the built in 1080 video. just check around for reviews. ultimately, it comes down to what you do you really need? if you can wait a month or so, get the canon, otherwise the D90 is pretty nice.

Depending on your finances right now you cant beat the Nikon D300.

I have a Nikon D60 which does not have a focus drive motor in the camera which really irritated me when I figured out what that ment... although there is a chance I can give the D60 to my wife since shes getting into photography and buy myself the D90 or 300 depending on how rich I think I am.

The D90 also has 1080 video. It's pretty cool!

IMO If you want to take video get a video camera.

I do not like the video features in still cameras, it makes me wonder what I am sacrificing in still quality to fit all the video stuff in.

+1! And I did make a mistake. I meant 1,280 x 720. Oops.

Yup. It's not full HD

I dont know what you mean by full HD but 720 is in fact a full HD 16:9 resolution.
