what can i do to help my clam?

i accidently hit my crocea while cleaning some macro algae. i slipped and knocked its foot loose. i feel very bad. i have had this jewel for a year on a nice rock ledge. all water params are excelllent. i saw its foot float away. is there anything i can do to help????

What does his byssus opening look like? Is there a big hole there? If it was just his byssus threads then he might be ok, if it was his entire foot then there isn't much you can do. SORRY

the bo is still intact. no holes and is responsive.

You may have a chance. Clam also shed there old footing and regrow so let's keep our fingers crossed that he was sheding and starting new growth. Don't give up on him.

perhaps it was a regrowth period. it was not much of a hit that knocked it loose. i am just going to leave it alone for now. thanks for the help.
