Im going to be setting up a 90g reef tank around novemeber and this is what I got so far as a stocking list. Feel free to chime in and if something wrong please tell me lol also if you have one of these fish feel free to tell me what you thought about it.

corals will be mushrooms,zoas,ricordea,lps

would these be ok with a pistol shrimp goby pair or what fish are best with these.

list

yellow eye kole tang

magnificent fox face

green seagrass wrasse

clown fish pair haven't decided

tiger pistol shrimp and randall's goby pair any other goby shrimp pairs you guys can suggest?

some schooling fish of some kind haven't decided
always liked anthias species but i hear some are hard to keep which ones are best in a 90g if any?

I've had my pistol & 2 goby set for 3 years now with similar fish as your stocking list with no problems. The shrimp will take any corals that aren't secured to use inside his apartment...so keep that in mind when placing corals.

I'd avoid the cleaner wrasse - they don't survive long in captivity.

ahh sweet thinks for the info on the shrimp stealing corals lol that be cool to watch though. Ok didn't know that about the cleaner wrasse guess his gotta go don't want fish that do not do good in captivity.

i have a 90 with a royal gamma , lawnmower blenny , maderin, pair of clowns , yellow tang and a blue hippo ,and a six line wrasse. I have a yellow goby he was a hider and saw him once in a while , i got the pistol shrimp and within a week the shrimp dug a hole and have not seen either for 5 months besides a pile of sand every morning . i figured the goby didnt make it but late a night with a flashlight I check and see him poking his head out but its rare . i wish i never got the shrimp maybe i would see the goby like i used to , you will never catch them unless you take apart the whole tank , but its a happy mixed reef with no problems

When I got my gobies and shrimp, I placed them all in a tuperware container upside down right where I wanted them to live in the tank...then pulled the lid out from under them. Immediately the shrimp started digging, and they never moved from that main spot (granted, they have many other openings and tunnels everywhere, but that's their main spot to hang out). I've done that a few other times, and it's worked every time. I see my male goby all the time, but the female stays hidden except to come out for food. The shrimp is always back and forth in and out of the tunnels. Pretty cool to watch. Just make sure your rocks are directly on the tank, not placed on top of sand. Otherwise, you'll have a rockslide.

mech that an awsome idea with the container. I think i will also ask my lfs since its family owned if they would house a pair together so they can become buds. Because i also hear sometimes they will not pair up. Hopefully i get an out going pair lol hate to not be able to see them in action:uzi:

yea when i set it up i will make sure rocks are on the glass would a 2 inch sand bed be good or should i go a little bigger? Also is there any thing like glue were i can make sure the rocks do not fall? I will be getting around 110 pounds of dry rock at bulk reef supply and some peices of live from my favorite lfs.
