A 1hp should do fine on your system. Never used a JBJ, I ran a 1/2hp Pacific Coast before switching to the eco cooler. Water in my area is still a flat rate where my electricity is screaming high so I opted with the Deltec. I use about 1-2g per day in winter and 5gpd in summer but save ton on my electrical cost.
