What comes first the clown or anemone?

I want to introduce a clown and RBTA to my established 24g. Should I introduce them together or one before the other? If so, what order? I read all the FAQ which were awesome, but didn't see the answer to this question.

Cheers,

Josh

It might be easier to get the anemone first and get it into a position where it will stay before adding the clown.

I think you need to put the anenome in the tank first....The stress from moving is tough on it then to add a clown will be even more stressful...Clowns can really beat them up....

I read a wise recommendation on here a few months back. It's easier on the nem to have fish that are smaller so they don't overwhelm it. It's easier to find different sizes of clowns than anemones sometimes.

If you add the nem first, let it settle (don't forget to feed it and keep everything in check) then you can find appropriate sized clowns for your nem.

This is how we did it - based partly on that advice, but I'm also hoping that when the clowns are added to the tank, their instinct to seek shelter will be in hyperdrive and my nem will look like a target :) I don't know if it will work, but I've got my fingers crossed.

Personally, I'll buy my anemone first. That way, you have a big anemone with small clowns instead of a small anemone with big clowns. A bigger anemone will allow more hosting area and since the clowns are small, they won't be able to "love" the anemone to death.
