What CUC will eat Chaeto?

I managed to get chaeto from my fuge growing in my main tank.

I don't mind small amounts, but you know how chaeto is.

Will anything eat it? So far my tuxedo urchin hasn't bothered. I don't have any emerald crabs at the moment, but I suspect they may much on it.

Any suggestions?

My LFS loves it, I bring it in and never ask for compensation.

Interestingly enough everything I buy there is on a special sale just for me.

:D

Lol, that's easy enough for the stuff right out of the fuge.

I'm talking about the stuff that's managed to anchor in my display tank. The little sprigs that come off have managed to get a foothold on a couple of rocks, and pulling it loose doesn't seem to help.

It's possible I have enteromophic algae, but it really looks like plain-jane chaeto that's anchored on the rock.

I'm glad my tangs eat it. I guess if this is in your 10g or even 20g tanks, you can't really keep a tang....

At least you've got options. I've got halimedia growing rampantly all over my tank, and nothing eats it, even with 2 different types of tangs and 2 dwarf angels...

Good luck!

Reefwreak, I've read that tuxedo and diadema urchins will eat halimeda.

You're right about the tangs, tank's too small for even temporary housing.

Chaeto doesn't anchor to anything in my experience  . When some gets in the display I just pull it out.

The variety I have will anchor to rubble in the bottom of the fuge, and what is in the main tank has anchored to some rocks.

I'll say that what's on the rocks may not be chaeto (I'll have to try to get a pic) but it looks just like what's in my fuge based on growth pattern and color.
