What did Biff spit out?

OK, Biff has been spitting out the yuckiest looking stuff for a while now. It looks like a white string tinged with red in places. He spits it of his siphon at the base of his mantle. My wife says its octo snot. I thought I'd ask the experts. BTW, here's pic of the Biff monster himself.
