Hi guys, there is a lot of talk about how to get rid of aipastia and how it's a pest. But I was curious about what they eat and what their living conditions are. There's not much information about it except that it eats 'polyps'.
- I'm guessing they're not particular in what lighting they need since they grow everywhere?
- Will they feed on brine shrimp or copepods when they are small? What about when they grow to the size of your thumb? Other than polyps.
- Are they hardy enough to withstand the extremist of conditions?
- Any water currents/movements that they need?
Reason is, a friend gave me a small piece of live rock and I noticed it had a few tiny aipastias attached to it. It's isolated in a jar (I never add foreign stuff directly to tank), but I kind of want to see what they're like. Ugly beasts, yes and such.
Anyway, I've never had aipastias before (or any sort of anemone). Could you guys give me some tips as to what you believe these beasts thrive on?
