I just bought it and dont know a thing about them...Stupid right? People at LFS say it eats micro organisms on the live rock and slime off the glass/rocks. Can I mix up a batch of cyclopeeze and oyster eggs and target feed it? How about giving it a small pirce of silversides??? I didnt realize how hard it is to keep these things alive until i read through a few posts here. Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated. Would anyone suggest returning him to LFS? I dont want it to die.

75 gal reef w/75 lbs live rock.
30 gal sump w/refuge...caulerpa and rubble
2 x 150 hqi 2 x 96 pcs

Water parms stable at 0. Alk. salt, ph. all good

Do you know what type of seastar it is? Many have specific diets and for most their diets arent even fully understood. A good start would be to provide plenty of LR for grazing. Try what you've suggested, and see if it shows any interest.

Many might suggest you return it to the LFS. If it dies in their care without being sold they may not order anymore.

what do you mean orange seastar..like a orange Lankia star.

I have a green bahama and when it comes to the top of the tank..i give it a piece of krill and it likes that alot.
