What do people think about....

I was reading up on vodka dosing when I came across also mixing in viniger and sugar. I was woundering if anybody stands by that or is it ok to just dose with vadka? 1ml is pretty much 1 drop? Also do you need BioDigest or ozone?

You might have some better luck in the chemistry forum but have you considered bio-pellets? Basically they are solid carbon dosing.

I dose Vodka and Vinegar. Here is a thread from a year ago that states a starting point for vgv dosing. Some say to leave the glucose(sugar) out as it can cause rtn in SPS. I haven't seen proof of this, but I don't dose glucose so I wouldn't know.http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?p=14961223

One ml is not one drop, it could be, but I wouldn't chance it when it comes down to something that needs to be measured out like carbon dosing. Get a 5ml pipette with marks every .2ml's. That is what I use, except it has the plunger type mechanism instead of a squeezer type. Read this http://www.coralmagazine-us.com/content/probiotics-demystified and this http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2008-08/nftt/index.php Don't skip either one, it is important to read about what you are putting into your tank before dumping it in. Also make sure you have a test kit that will read low and high range PO4 and NO3. Alk must stay at NSW levels or you will see burnt tips on SPS. Carbon dosing after long enough can make one see a loss of blue colors mainly in acro's and mille's. Low potassium is a cause of this, and can be remedied by using a potassium/flouride additive. AA's are also a good thing to add if you see color loss after several months of carbon dosing.
