Any banggai I've had have eaten anything I throw in the tank that will fit in their mouths. They seem to prefer meaty foods, but they will eat chunks of algae like formula and Formula 2, as well as spirulina pellets.

While it shouldn't matter much in this case, because banggai are typically so easy, as a general rule it's a good idea to learn what a fish needs before you buy it, so you're sure you will be able to provide that.

I should mention that all those I've ever had have been tank-raised (some by me, some by others).
From what I've seen and heard, WC are not as hardy, and can be harder to get eating. There's really no good reason not to get TR.

i usually do a search on fish, but it was such a good deal at the time, and was not near a computer, the fish store didnt have a book on them.

I feed mine a variety of foods. The male will eat frozen only, while the female will eat pellets, flake food, and frozen as well e.g. mysis.

Hi that's what i was trying to say.
One question, about the bangais i've read a lot of things, should they be kept in pairs? or groups? alone?

I have had a single one for about 10 months and it loves the frozen mysis and brine shrimp. It will occationally eat prime reef flakes, but not always. Mine was a wild caught one, found out the day after I got it that they can be more difficult. Guess it's OK.

They'll do fine alone or in pairs. Larger groups will usually whittle themselves down to a pair.
