What do you feed/dose your tank?

Besides 2 part solution if not using a Ca reactor.....

I'm just getting back into the hobby, and I'm waiting for my tank to be finished and delivered. One of the mistakes I've made in the past was keeping a very low nutrient tank. I kept mostly SPS but had little fish and made the mistake of not feeding enough for the SPS to thrive with beautiful coloration. I assumed great lighting, a good level of Ca and DKH were all I needed.

That sad, for this tank I plan on having a heavy bioload and have an ATB 840 skimmer to handle it for my 100g tank.

What exactly are you guys feeding the tank with and how often are you dosing this?

I always used to use flake food for fish, but perhaps I should use something like Rod's?

What about things such as aquavitro fuel? Is it worth it if you are feeding the tank enough? What about AA's?

For this tank I'm not using a reactor....will be dosing 2 part with a BM dosing pump, and plan on doing the MB7/Vodka thing.

Thanks for the help guys. I really want this tank to be successful, I believe I know where I went wrong in the past and trying to correct that.

Every tank is different as to what it need and how much. Start out with a good reef salt like Pro Reef, DD reef salt I also liked HW Reefer. Keep an eye on ph alk and ca levels. Iodine is always good to dose.
I does 2 part, AA, vodka, potassium, iodine and strontium.

Stuff I add

Stuff I add

I keep it pretty simple. I dose 2 part and kalk i drip at night for my 72 g mixed reef. Iodine and magnesium are added every 2 weeks just to give it a boost and then 2 weeks after that i do a 15 gallon water change
I like to feed frozen mysis shrimp and cyclopze is the best. Occasionally I soak the food i'n garlic or selcon. That's everything I put i'n my tank. Good luck!

I dose my 150g water system with alk, ca and mag 4x a day automatically. I feed my sps every 3-4 days with Reef Nutrition's RotiFeast and Oyster Feast and my lps about that often with mysis and brine. My few fish flakes or pellets every day or 2.

I feed my corals light, it is 98% of their diet. Also use 2 part. Never feed any kind of food to my sps maybe they snatch some mysis or brine, I highly doubt it. Keep in mind I am a poor college student so I can't affored the fancy coral foods, but I am very happy with coloration and the growth I get from my sps corals.

Thanks guys.

I have a Bubble Magus T01 dosing pump. Will be dosing B-Ionic 2 part with it, but I have a third unused channel. Should I use this to dose Magnesium daily?

For those dosing Iodine, are you testing your water for this? Or just dosing minimally?

Will look into Potassium and Strontium as well.

use the 3rd channel and do a small dose daily. i have the T01 as well and for my 75 i dose 15ml daily to maintain ~1400 mag

as for iodine, i give the tank 3 drops of lugols twice a week

How do you both ( jg1 and mutateddogbone) like your Bubble Magus T01 dosing pump. I have Aqua Medic Reefdoser not overly impressed.
