What all do you feed your clowns in QT? Don't have any? What all WOULD you feed if you were to have a clown or pair in your QT?

When they are young I feed small foods like cyclops, "Reef Caviar", and newly hatched brine shrimp. I also keep a small piece of dried seaweed in the tank for them. They're omnivores.

They're still pretty small/young at six months. I have a pair that's probably about a year old (from hatch) and I feed them like above. Even my adult, breeding, perculas will eat the food listed above. Larger clowns, like my maroons, need larger foods. They just ignore cyclops.

I have a juvenile a. Percula, probably seven months old, in quarantine right now. I feed a mixture of cyclopeeze, rods food, and flakes twice a day.

i can't remember where i read or heard this from. i thought newly hatched bbs is only good for young juvi's up to like 3 weeks old or so. now i'll have to go back over all my clownfish breeding folders and books to find where that is.

i feed my juvi clowns spectrum optimum flakes mixed w/ formula two flakes, rods and cyclop-eeze.

You are right with the bbshrimp. You can even skip it & go from rotifers to dry food.
To answer the feeding question just feed them what will fit in their mouth. If they spit it out then it's to big.

There is nothing wrong with feeding BBS to a clown that's over three weeks old. The fish will not spontaneously combust. BBS with their yoke sacks are highly nutritious. You just don't want to feed them exclusively. You want to get the fish on a varied diet as soon as possible. All of the fish we buy in stores should be large/old enough to accept a varied diet, and there's nothing wrong with BBS being part of that diet.

I totally forgot that they eat Nori!!! I put a decent sized piece in last night and when I woke up this morning it was gone!! I love when that happens

I put another piece of nori in and fed them some mixed formula flakes and pellets. Thanks guys and gals. I'm feeling much better about the situation.

I also have rotifers, brine shrimp, krill, nutramar ova, squid, mysis shrimp, and some other assorted food as well as pellets and flakes to keep it varied. I like to add amino acids, vitamin C, Selcon, and a touch of garlic as well (not all at the same time of course).
