I feed mine red ogo macro algae (gracilaria). He loves that stuff.

For one, Romaine has very little nutritional value and can also be detrimental if it's not frozen or boiled quickly to break down the cells. Secondly, Hepatus tangs are Planktivores when young and Omnivores as the grow so don't feed them like they're a herbivore.
